Purpose

This course provides students with fundamental knowledge in the field of augmented reality (AR), including concepts, basic components of an AR system, and technologies for implementing AR systems. Students will understand the principles and methods for developing display modules, camera calibration, object tracking, estimating the position and orientation of cameras, interaction, and navigation. Several tools for implementing AR applications will also be introduced. The course further offers students insights into the basic applications of augmented reality across various fields such as education, healthcare, engineering, commerce, etc. Additionally, it equips students with teamwork skills and the ability to apply technology to develop advanced applications in diverse domains.
